Reservations management

Applies to: Nerdio Manager for MSP (NMM) v3.5.0+

Overview

Partners have trouble knowing and tracking if they have purchased the right amount of Reservations (RIs) and AHB at any given time. The reservations feature helps partners keep a track of RIs, and in the future AHB, purchased; generates reminder alerts to renew reservations on time; highlights when reservations are out-of-sync with VM instances. This feature is in private preview. Contact Nerdio support to join the private preview program.

Tracking Reservations

NMM tags Reserved instances (RI) to AVD host pools and servers. Based on the VM configuration of the server/host pool, the reservation status or the reservation mapping result changes. NMM provides visual cues, reports and alerts about reservation status of host pools and servers as follows:

No reservation

If there are no reservations tied to Host Pools, then the icon will be shown in gray:

Res_notfound.PNG

Similarly, if there are no reservations tied to the server, then the icon will be shown in gray:

mceclip31.png

Out-of sync

If the manual tagging for any of the Reservations tied to Host Pool (or server) is out of sync with any session hosts, then the icon will be red:

Res_outofsync.PNG

Click "Out-of-sync" to know the reason:

mceclip9.png

In this case, currently, there are no running VMs or session hosts so the reservation status is "Out-of-sync".

Similarly, for server, if the reservations assigned to the server don't match the size and region of the server, then the icon will be red:

mceclip29.png

Click "Out-of-sync" to know the reason:

mceclip30.png

In this case, the server region doesn't match the reservation region so the reservation status is "Out-of-sync".

Setup

If the manual tagging for any of the Reservations tied to the Host Pool matches the size and region of any session hosts, then the icon will be green:

Res_setup.PNG

Click "Setup" to know which reservation is applied to your session host:

mceclip10.png

Similarly, for server, if the reservations assigned to the server matches the size and region of the server, then the icon will be green:mceclip27.png

Click "Setup" icon to know which reservation is applied to your server:

mceclip28.png

In this case, the server and reservation size is B2ms and server and reservation region is North Central US so the reservation status shows "Setup".
