Overview of reports in NMM

Overview

In NMM you can generate various reports to get critical insights such as a list of users, their desktop assignments, login activity, estimated vs actual costs, etc. for your account.

To view Reports for your account, log into your account and navigate to Reports tab. You will be able to view the following types of reports:

Users report

Users report helps you get a list of users in your account along with their desktop assignments. You can perform the following operations on your Users report:

View

Click View option on the View action menu to view the last generated report. If you wish to exclude certain users, select the checkboxes or simply click "OK" button:

You will be able to see the entire report as shown below:

Run

Click Run option on the View action menu to generate the report again:

Export to CSV

Click Export to CSV on the View action menu to download the report as a .csv file:

Once you click "OK" button, you will find the .csv file in your "Downloads" folder:

Schedule

Click Schedule on the View action menu to generate users report at specific times in the future:

Enter your one or more email addresses (separated by commas) and select the frequency of report generation (Daily, weekly, monthly or select a custom date range) :

The report will run as per the given schedule. For example, the Users report will run daily starting from 06/16/2022 at 8 a.m (UTC-06:00 Central Time (US & Canada), and every time the report runs, the user will be notified by email.

If you want to change an existing schedule, simply select "I want to remove current schedule " checkbox and click "Delete" button or click "Stop" button to discontinue the old schedule:

Additionally, Users reports can be sent to MSP-level mailboxes. In order to set this up, make sure:

  • At MSP level, "Settings->Notifications-> Email notifications" is set to "Enabled"
  • Mailboxes are linked and set up as default as shown below: MSPlevel_emailnoti.png
  • Accounts are assigned to mailboxes as shown below:Assign_accntspopup.png

Login activity

This report helps you capture last login times of desktop users and also helps identify inactive users in your account. You can perform the following operations on your Login activity report:

View

Click View option on the View action menu to view the last generated report. Select the required checkboxes and click "OK" button:

Run

Click Run option on the View action menu to generate the report again. Click "OK" button on the pop-up:

Export to CSV

Click Export to CSV on the View action menu to download the report as a .csv file:

Login activity report will show records as per the selections:

Schedule

Similar to Users' report you can setup a timeline to automatically run the login activity report. Click Schedule on the View action menu to generate Login activity report at specific times in the future:

Unused resources report

Unused resources report allows you to audit your Azure subscription & look for unused Azure resources, such as VMs that are running a long time, unattached disks, NICs, etc.:

Note: Currently, this report is available for private preview only.

You can perform the following operations on your "Unused resources" report:

View 

Click View option on the View action menu to view the last generated report. Select the required checkboxes and click "OK" button:

Run 

Click Run option on the View action menu to generate the report again. Click "OK" button on the pop-up:

Export to CSV

Click Export to CSV on the View action menu to download the report as a .csv file:
