Applies to: Nerdio Manager for MSP (NMM) partners and distributors
Nerdio billing is consumption based, which ensures that you pay only for what you use. NMM charges are calculated monthly on the first of the month for the previous month. Charges are based on average number of desktop users in the previous month.
Your NMM install reports the number of WVD desktop users across your NMM accounts to our licensing servers on a regular basis. At 12:01 a.m. UTC on the first day of every month, we will average out the number of users in your NMM Install, apply any discounts such as Internal Use License (IUL) or volume discounts, and calculate the charges for the previous month. Note that we pro-rate charges. For example if you assign WVD desktop to a user on the 20th, not the 1st, we charge for that user for 10 days, not the entire month.
Nerdio Tip A WVD desktop user is a user that has been assigned a WVD desktop or RemoteApp. Nerdio will bill for the user irrespective of whether the user logs in to their WVD desktop/RemoteApp or not.
If user is assigned multiple desktops or RemoteApps, Nerdio will count the user once.
Invoicing for charges
Once the charges are calculated-
1. If you signed up for NMM via a distributor, we consider you a “distributor partner” and will invoice your distributor for the charges. You will not see an invoice from us. You will be able to view the number of desktop users we tracked on a daily basis and used to calculate the charges.
2. If you signed up for NMM directly with us, we consider you a “direct partner”. We will report usage to Azure Marketplace. Azure will invoice you on your Azure bill. You will pay Microsoft and Microsoft will pay Nerdio. You will see an invoice in the NMM portal, however you will not pay the invoice. The invoice is for your accounting purposes and to understand how the charges were calculated. You will be able to view the number of desktop users we tracked on a daily basis and used to calculate the charges.
