Overview of Public IPs
Nerdio Manager allows you to add Public IPs and associate them with Azure resources.
Add a Public IP
Nerdio Manager allows you to add a Public IP.
To add a Public IP:
At the Account level, navigate to Network > Public IP.
Select Add Public IP.
Enter the following information:
Name: Type the Public IP's name.
Note: The name can be up to 80 characters. The name can contain letters, numbers, underscores, periods, and hyphens. The name must begin and end with a letter or a number.
Resource Group: From the drop-down list, select the resource group.
SKU: From the drop-down list, select the SKU.
Note: The Standard SKU uses the static allocation method and is closed to public inbound traffic by default. Create and associate a network security group and explicitly allow the desired inbound traffic. The Basic SKU is open by default and does not support availability zone scenarios, routing preference, or cross-region load balancers functionality.
Allocation: From the drop-down list, select the allocation.
Note: With static allocation, the resource is assigned an IP address at the time it is created. The IP address is released when the resource is deleted. With dynamic allocation, the IP address is assigned when you associate the public IP address with a resource. The IP address is released when you stop or delete the resource.
Availability Zone: From the drop-down list, select the availability zone.
Note: By default, the availability zone drop-down is disabled. Once you select a region (for example, West US 2), you are able to select the corresponding availability zone.
DNS Name Label: Optionally, type the DNS name label.
Note: Provide this option to specify a DNS label for the Public IP resource. This creates a FQDN for the Public IP with the format domainnamelabel.location.cloudapp.azure.com.
Associate with server: Select this option to allow the a server to be selected.
Note: You may associate a server with a Public IP at a later time, if so desired. See Associate a Public IP with Virtual Machines for details.
Server: From the drop-down list, select the server to be associated with the Public IP.
Note: The server must be in the same region as the Public IP.
Network Interface: If the server has multiple NICs, from the drop-down list, select the appropriate network interface.
IP Configuration: From the drop-down list, select the IP configuration.
Once you have entered all the desired information, select OK.
