Reservations Management
Partners have trouble tracking if they have purchased the right amount of Reservations (RIs) and AHB at any given time. Nerdio Manager's Reservations feature helps partners keep a track of RIs, and in the future AHB, purchased; generates reminder alerts to renew Reservations on time; and highlights when Reservations are out-of-sync with VM instances.
Add a Reservation
Nerdio Manager allows you to add a Reservation.
To add a Reservation:
At the Account level, navigate to Settings > Azure.
Scroll down to the Reservations section and select Add.
Enter the following information:
Order ID: Type the Order ID you received when you purchased the Reservation from Azure.
Name: Type an appropriate name for the Reservation.
Price: Type the total amount you paid for the Reservation. In addition, select the billing type.
Order Date: Select the date you purchased the Reservation. In addition, select the term.
Region: From the drop-down list, select the data center or region you specified when you purchased the Reservation.
VM Series: From the drop-down list, select the VM size (product) you specified when you purchased the Reservation.
Instance Size Flexibility: Select this option to apply the Reservation discount to other VM sizes in the same VM size group.
Note: Please refer to this Microsoft article for more information about optimized settings for reserved VM instances.
Quantity: Type the quantity you purchased of this Reservation.
Once you have entered all the desired information, select OK.
The Reservation is added to the list of Reservations.
Notes: You can perform the following Reservation management tasks from the Reservations section.
Select Edit to edit or view an existing Reservation.
From the action menu, select Remove to delete an existing Reservation.
Assign a Reservation to a Host Pool
Nerdio Manager allows you to assign a Reservation to a host pool.
To assign a Reservation to a host pool:
At the Account level, navigate to AVD > Host Pools.
Locate the host pool you wish to work with.
From the action menu, select Reservations.
A list of Reservations that are already assigned to the host pool displays.
Select Assign.
From the drop-down list, select the desired Reservation.
Select Assign.
Note: You can perform the following tasks from the host pool's Reservations page.
Select Unassign to unassign the Reservation from the host pool.
Select Add to add a new Reservation to this specific host pool. See Add a Reservation for details.
Assign a Reservation to a Server
Nerdio Manager allows you to assign a Reservation to a server.
To assign a Reservation to a server:
At the Account level, navigate to Servers.
Locate the server you wish to work with.
From the action menu, select Reservations.
A list of Reservations that are already assigned to the host pool displays.
Select Assign.
From the drop-down list, select the desired Reservation.
Select Assign.
Note: You can perform the following tasks from the server's Reservations page.
Select Unassign to unassign the Reservation from the server.
Select Add to add a new Reservation to this specific server. See Add a Reservation for details.
Track Reservations
Nerdio Manager tags Reservations to AVD host pools and servers. Based on the VM configuration of the host pool or server, the Reservation status or the Reservation mapping result can change over time. Nerdio Manager provides the following visual cues, reports, and alerts about the Reservation status of host pools and servers.
No Reservations for Host Pools or Servers
Nerdio Manager displays the following if a host pool or server does not have a Reservation.
Out-of-Sync Reservations
If the manual tagging for any of the Reservations tied to a host pool or server is out-of-sync with any session hosts, then the icon is displayed in red.
Select Out-of-sync to view the reason. For example:
Setup
If the manual tagging for any of the Reservations tied to the host pool or server matches the size and region of any session hosts, then the icon is displayed in green.
Select Setup to view the Reservation applied to the host pool or server.
Generate a Request for RIs and AHB
Nerdio Manager helps you quickly gain access to a detailed list of Reservations and Azure Hybrid Benefits you can apply to an account.
To generate a request for RIs or AHB:
At the Account level, navigate to Home.
In the Shortcuts tile, select Request RIs and AHB.
Enter the following information:
Include servers & host pools with associated Reservations, expiring in the next: Select this option to include servers and host pools that are associated with Reservations and are set to expire in the selected number of days.
RI Term: From the drop-list, select the RI term.
Once you have entered all the desired information, select Copy.
A request to purchase RIs and AHB, in an email-friendly format, is copied to the clipboard.
Compose an email to your distributor or Azure provider and paste the contents of the clipboard into the body of the email.
